Nancy Donovan (Julianne Moore) was Jack's high-school crush, a devout Catholic with a pronounced Boston accent and later Jack' girlfriend. She is married with two kids when she first appears on the show.

In "Secret Santa", Jack reconnects with her and ponders the possibility of romance as Nancy's marriage is falling apart. In "Klaus and Greta", after a crazy New Year's Eve, Jack Donaghy realizes that while drunk on wine brought by Bob Ballard, he left a message on the answering machine of Nancy. He and Kenneth Parcell immediately travel to Massachusetts and break into Nancy's home while she is on vacation, hoping to erase the message. While Kenneth fumbles with the computer, Jack examines the house and finds evidence that Nancy's marriage is reaching its end - he husband's clothes are on the couch, their sinks are separated, and they have booked flights to different places. They eventually play the message, after Jack finds the voicemail code, in which Jack reminisces about their times in high school German class. In that class, Jack had the name "Klaus" and Nancy had the name "Greta"—and Jack says that he took the class to be with her. Jack decides not to erase the message, but Kenneth does so anyway, telling him that there is no sign Nancy wants Jack in her life. When they return to New York, Kenneth realizes that Nancy's voicemail code (55287) stands for "Klaus", which means that Nancy does have feelings for Jack.
In "Winter Madness", Jack takes the TGS team to Boston for a trip in order to see her. He learns that Nancy's husband has left her as a way of getting her to ask for a divorce, but Nancy refuses to do so, fearing what others might think. Jack admits his true feelings to Nancy and insists that the two talk. She suggests that they should say four words to each other as a way of putting their relationship on hold; Jack says to her "I'll wait. Not forever", while Nancy tells him "I'll try. Wicked hard."
By the time Nancy decides to divorce her husband in "Lee Marvin VS Derek Jetter", Jack is already involved with Avery. He dates both women, unable to decide and also ends up having sex with Nancy which is a big deal to her. She later finds out that he's dating someone else as well and becomes angry. He reassures her that he'd choose her while Liz stalls Floyd's wedding ceremony to keep her from exiting the church . However, eventually, Nancy meets Avery and finds out she's pregnant. She informs Jack of Avery's pregnancy, encourages him to pursue his relationship with her in order to have a family that he'd always wanted and leaves.
She is played by Cynthia Nixon in the TV-movie made about Avery, Kidnapped by Danger. In "Hogcock!", Jack reconnects with Nancy and Elisa Pedrera, convincing both women to set aside their devout Catholicism and participate in a ménage à trois conjugal visit to Elisa's prison, the intensity of which rids both women of their accents.
